Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
The Madison Number 1 PTO is dedicated to supporting students and staff. There is no “membership fee” - all families are part of the PTO by virtue of the fact they are part of the Madison No. 1 Community.
The PTO funds many expenses that the school budget does not cover, such as classroom supplies for teachers, ribbons, trophies and awards for science fairs, Invention Convention and band classes, tether balls and other outdoor equipment used during recess, conference and teacher appreciation meals, PAWS rewards, and contributions to the 8th grade promotion. We also sponsor community building events like Bingo Nights and Book fairs.
Site-Based Council
The Site-Based Management Team is a group of teachers, staff members, and parents and students who meet quarterly to ensure that we are meeting the district’s and school’s primary purpose: Extraordinary Learning for all and Passionate about meeting individual needs. Through this committee, participants work collaboratively to provide input on expenditures for the tax credit budget, school improvement goals, and parent involvement topics. Site-Based Committee members may be asked to analyze data and contribute to the school improvement plan activities and outcomes. Site-Based Management Team members analyze school climate data, and discuss ways to communicate those things that are occurring at Madison No. 1.
