Madison No. 1 Teacher Receives STEM Grant from APS

Madison No. 1 Middle School's 7th and 8th-grade science teacher, Natalie Carpenter, has been awarded a STEM grant from Arizona Public Service (APS). This grant, in partnership with the Phoenix Suns/Phoenix Mercury Foundation, will supply funding for innovative STEM learning tools and resources that aim to enhance the educational experience for her students.

With this grant, Ms. Carpenter will be able to acquire a range of new electronics, including Raspberry Pi devices, Arduino starter kits, and a multi-color 3D printer for her classes. These new tools will provide her students with the opportunity to participate in hands-on projects that will deepen their understanding of STEM concepts through real-world applications and foster their creativity.

Phoenix Suns player Ryan Dunn and the Suns Gorilla visited Ms. Carpenter's classroom to present her with the grant award and a custom Suns jersey, adding to the excitement of the announcement.
