Madison No. 1 News
Thanks to a generous grant from Arizona Public Service (APS), Madison No. 1 Middle School has enhanced its campus with 66 new trees for students and the community to enjoy.
On October 24, staff volunteers from APS, alongside Madison School District staff and students, gathered to plant these new trees around the school grounds.
Through its Community Tree Program, APS collaborates with Title 1 schools, non-profit organizations, neighborhood associations, cities, and towns in lower-income areas to supply trees and support their planting. Since the initiative began in 2022, APS has successfully planted over 1,300 trees.
The newly planted trees at Madison No. 1 Middle School will provide additional shade and cooling benefits, both on campus and along the community sidewalks on 16th Street and Missouri.
